Our boys, both seven years old, just started the school year one week ago and they already have homework. We sit with them to help them and (mainly) to get them going, as the TV seems to be far more attractive than doing homework so they won't do it by themselves. Hopefully they also like the attention they get while doing homework, so this should stimulate them. It’s nice to see them making progress, but sometimes even our brains are challenged when we try to understand what they need to do. For the teacher the assignments are probably straightforward, but for us it’s not always that easy. We feel a bit like being back at school again.
